FROM CATASTAGHJU TO THE SHEPHERDS OF SCANCIATELLA: in the footsteps of the shepherds

Discovery of the cultures and landscapes of this mountain which used to be the village's livelihood. At Catastaghju, follow the Mare a Mare centre signs. The path leaves the road to the west and begins a steep climb through the pine forest; halfway along, a beautiful waterfall allows a refreshing break.
The climb continues to the ridge, where you have to leave the path to the left to reach the Scanciatella sheepfolds, offering a view of the Abatescu valley on one side and the bocca di Laparo (on the main mountain ridge) on the other.
