What to do in Pietroso ?

In the middle of the maquis with miscellaneous odours and perfumes, adjoining a fragrant pine forest, this little village is known for its numerous «sapare» (caves). Birthplace of the curate Dominique Carlotti, better known by his pen name Martinu Appinzapalu, he was a poet, lexicographer and grammarian of the Corsican language. Take a stroll in the village to see his house.
TO VISIT:
- The San Lorenzo chapel: built in the 7th century in the Roman style and classified as a Historic Monument. This building was topped in the 16th century with pointed ribbed vaults that are quite
rare on the island.
