Located at the foot of Punta Bacinello, facing Monte Renosu, Lake Bastani is one of the highest lakes in Corsica (2092 m). Lake Bastani is about 500 metres north of Monte Renoso (2352 m) and less than a kilometre northwest of Lake Nielluccio. The start is at 1586 metres, above Ghisoni, near the refuge and sheepfolds of Capannelle on the GR20. You immediately leave the GR20 itinerary to go up the path that serves the Petraniella ski lift. Quite quickly, at around 1725m, you leave the small ski area to follow a wide ridge. After some steeper passages, interspersed with a small grassy plateau, and pozzi and pozzine, the well-marked path leads to the lake of Bastani at 2090m. You should reach it after an hour and a half, at most two hours. This lake is really magnificent, with its heart shape. The lake of Bastani, is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes of Corsica.
