I Pozzi: a mystery of nature Themes : Geological curiosities & Off the beaten track The pozzi are a natural Corsican curiosity: green lawns broken up by water holes. It is on this marshy plateau, a former glacier, that the Fium'Orbu river has its source.

From the village of Ghisoni, follow the D69 south to the Verde pass (1289m).

Follow the GR20 trail that goes west from the Verde refuge along a forestry track to the Flasca pass (Bocca à Flasca - 1430m).

The path continues westwards to the Marmanu river, which is crossed by a footbridge, and then begins a rocky, winding climb towards the north. After about an hour and a half's walk from the Verde pass, you reach the Ghjalgone plateau (signs) at an altitude of 1591m.

At this point, you have to abandon the GR20 (which continues to the north-east) and take a path that goes west through a beech forest. Be careful, there are no more markings on this last part.

It takes about an hour to reach the Pozzi sheepfolds (1746m), and shortly afterwards the first Pozzi area at 1780m. Continuing on, you will find two other areas at 1815m and 1840m respectively.
